Campers swim twice a day, once for instructional swim and once for fun! Learning to swim is an important life skill that can help keep children safe around water. It can also open up opportunities for fun, fitness, and employment.
Our mission is to teach bike riding in a safe, effective, affordable, and timely way, no matter what the level of the child. We maintain a large fleet of bicycles and helmets in many sizes to accommodate all of our campers.
Taking kids kayaking is an excellent bonding experience, and one that helps them gain confidence on the water and an appreciation of nature. Kayaking is also one of the safest and most popular paddling sports, and one that countless families enjoy every year.
Waiting for the Catch: Learning to wait quietly for a fish to bite teaches children the value of patience and the reward of persistence. Dealing with Disappointment: Not every trip results in a catch. Handling these moments builds resilience and teaches children to persevere through unexpected challenges.
Our program is designed to allow teens to grow in numerous ways: self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, and new outdoor skills. This unique combination fosters an appreciation for the environment, instills a spirit of adventure, and fosters a sense of community through memorable experiences!
The CIT program is designed to give 15, 16 and 17 year old former campers the opportunity to familiarize themselves with staff roles and develop their leadership skills.
Camp counselors gain experience that complements many areas of study, including education, child care and environmental sciences.
Our camp staff as counselors developed skills like: Responsibility – Counselors are accountable for campers' care and experience. This builds maturity and the ability to accept responsibility. People Management – From campers to fellow staff, counselors need to work cohesively with groups to accomplish goals.
Board members are involved at the highest level in the governance and strategic planning of the organization and play the most critical role in our long-term success. The camp or counselor experience provides insight into the programs and success of the camp.
